Computer Core, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), and the Alexandria Redevelopment Housing Authority (ARHA) combined efforts this April and May to offer a six-week hands-on course in computers.
This course introduced fourteen ACPS parents to the basic skills needed to use a computer, including email, internet, google docs and sheets, and Blackboard. ACPS’ Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center sponsored the course. FACE’s mission is to provide opportunities for students and families to participate in activities relevant to the academic achievement of ACPS students. The course was held at the Ruby Tucker Family Center located in Old Town Alexandria.
A big thanks to CORE volunteers Hunt Anderson and John Tschetter for making this such a positive and productive learning opportunity for City residents!
