Board Chair

adamAdam Schau

Strategy and Operations Manager, Microsoft Adam’s experience includes four years of experience in progressive Strategy and Operations Management at Microsoft. Responsibilities include proactively supporting business groups by serving as a trusted business advisor to the General Manager and leadership team, striving for process improvements, identifying and solving complex business issues, providing field-level support, and completing special projects for the Vice President’s office. Previous experience in a variety of professional occupations, including lobbying and legislative organization at the state and national level, management and legal experience in a commercial law firm, project management execution, and entrepreneurial achievements. Adam received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Business and an MBA in Analytics and Marketing from Indiana University. He holds Project Managers Professionals Certification (PMP) and Certified SCRUM master.

Vice Chair

Program Manager/Management Consultant

Peter Kent brings more than 20 years of experience providing management leadership in business operations and organizational transformation services for complex IT portfolios. A recognized expert in Human Capital assessment, Organizational Communication and Change Management; experienced within non-profit, federal and commercial clientele across Health IT, education/training, security, hi-tech, pharmaceutical, insurance, and retail sectors.

Peter is a successful leadership mentor/coach, providing clients’ strategies and tools to improve their internal and external facing processes. It is that mentoring that attracted him to Computer CORE, and to become an active member on the Board of Directors after first volunteering as an instructor. He has been married for 30 years to his mentor and best friend. He is originally from South America, and has lived on three continents.

Feven Getachew

Founder and President, Liz Marketing

Founder and Director, Path for Her

Feven Getachew runs Liz Marketing LLC, a company that provides small- to medium-size businesses with graphic design, promotional materials and print products. In addition to her company, Feven founded a small nonprofit that helps young girls in Ethiopia go to school. The Path for Her organization supports girls in their educational efforts and helps them stay in school by providing them with educational resources. In addition to being on the Board of Computer CORE she is also an active member of BNI, Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Tyson’s Corner Rotary club. Feven holds an MBA in Marketing from Johns Hopkins – Carey Business School.

Treasurer

Craig Jarvill

Craig Jarvill joined the Computer CORE Board of Directors as Treasurer in 2019. He has recently retired from his position of Director of the Division of Finance (DOF) with the FDIC. Craig was Acting Director of DOF since January 2011 and Deputy Director of Financial Operations since May 2010.  As Deputy Director of Financial Operations, he is responsible for the Receipts, Disbursements, and Travel Operations Branch; the Treasury Management Branch; and the Financial Operations Reporting and Control Section. Prior to assuming the Deputy Director position, Craig served as Senior Advisor to the FDIC’s Deputy to the Chairman and Chief Financial Officer.  In addition to his DOF experience, Craig has 11 years of resolutions experience, including actively participating in more than 50 bank closings and developing corporate-wide resolutions-related accounting procedures and guidance.

Sal BezosSal Bezos
Director, Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox P.L.L.C.

Sal Bezos is a patent attorney and director at Sterne Kessler. Sal provides services in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the United States Patent & Trademark Office, developing enforceable patent portfolios capable of withstanding legal scrutiny. Sal is also part of the firm’s Patent Office Litigation Practice, having represented patent owners and petitioners in numerous post-grant proceedings before the PTAB. Through Sal’s collaboration with Washington, D.C.-area legal aid services, the firm’s pro bono practice has expanded to include an immigration law practice. Through this program, Sal and the firm have filed a habeas petition to reunite an immigrant child with his family, helped victims of violence and abuse apply for U Nonimmigrant Status, and helped DACA recipients apply for status renewal, among other efforts.

Sal is passionate about education. He is an adjunct professor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where he has taught a course on patent writing since 2012. In addition, Sal served as the chair of the Technology and Engineering Education Advisory Board for Fairfax County Public Schools and as a general board member for ten years, where he provided industry perspectives and review of Fairfax County’s middle and high school engineering curriculum.

Sal holds a J.D. from George Mason, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Chris Ryan

Principal Consultant, Ryan Performance Associates, LLC

Chris brings 15+ years’ experience in management consulting, business capture strategy and execution, and program and project management to help clients build capacity and win new business. Chris has consulted extensively in human capital management, including leading client engagements with commercial and federal government customers. He has consulted with a number of nonprofit clients, first as a founding member of the leadership team for Indiana University’s Global Business and Social Enterprise initiative, later as the Service Corps Program Lead for the DC Professional Chapter of Net Impact, and then as a pro bono consultant both with Taproot Foundation and independently for organizations including the D.C. Employment Justice Center and Food Recovery Network. Chris holds an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and an MA in Education (Instructional Technology) and BA (History) from Virginia Tech.

Sanjiv Waghmare

Sanjiv Waghmare joined Computer CORE’s Board of Directors in 2018.  Over the past 20 years, Sanjiv has held leadership positions at McKinsey & Company, Capital One, Intuit, DH Corporation and Wolters Kluwer in the areas of business strategy, general management and product management.

Sanjiv received MBA from Kellogg School of Management.

Allison Chase

Director of Product Management, Alarm.com Inc.

Allison is Director of Product Management at Alarm.com focusing on strategic partnerships and leading product development for hardware integrations in IoT and connected home/business services. Allison holds a PMP certification, received her B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University, and received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Saunji Fyffe

Principal Analyst, General Dynamics IT

Saunji joined Computer CORE’s Board of Directors in 2019, and has been a volunteer with the organization since 2007. At General Dynamics IT Saunji is working to infuse outcomes-based assessment into the U.S. Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement’s monitoring and evaluation efforts. Saunji has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector including working as a researcher at the Urban Institute’s Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy and teaching graduate level nonprofit management courses at American University. Saunji holds a PhD from Virginia Tech, MPA from George Mason University, and a BA from the University of Virginia.

Chris Burke

Director, Baker Tilly

Chris joined Computer CORE’s Board of Directors in 2019, and has been a volunteer with the organization since 2013. He is a director with Baker Tilly in Tysons, Virginia, where he leads internal operations and external business development for Baker Tilly’s Business Inform ation Systems team. Chris’s career includes leadership of projects over $6 million, teams of 115 and P&Ls over $34 million. Chris received a BA from Virginia Tech, and has completed graduate studies in technology management at the University of Maryland.
